I am a PhD researcher living in Yorkshire, England. My research focuses on the analysis of language in legal and institutional contexts, with particular emphasis on Arabic–English legal translation, corpus linguistics, and peacebuilding discourse. My current work explores how legal and institutional texts in Iraq construct and translate key concepts related to law, conflict, and social transformation.
I have over ten years of professional experience working with national and international organisations in the field of peacebuilding, alongside managing a legal translation company in Iraq. This combined academic and professional background informs my interdisciplinary approach to research, bridging theoretical linguistics with real-world legal and social issues.
I also lead STS, a translation company in Iraq that provides specialised legal translation and language services, supporting institutional, legal, and international communication.
I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Translation and am currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics at the University of Leeds, where my research adopts a corpus-based approach to examine Arabic–English legal texts from Iraqi legislative and institutional sources.
